Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Wulver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, William Wulver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes jabs Wulver right on the nose. Wulver blinks but takes it well.
Jab, jab by Hughes - just one landing.
Wulver looks to land a combination but Hughes avoids it well.
Hughes throws a hook to the side of Wulver's head but Wulver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hughes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Wulver sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hughes slips a jab and a cross from Wulver.
Hughes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Wulver lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hughes scores with a nice right hand.


It looks like William Wulver has been cut.
Wulver bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hughes's head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wulver fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hughes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Hughes rushes Wulver and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wulver misses with some punches.

Wulver breaks the clinch.

Hughes drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Wulver wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hughes manages to pass to side control.

Wulver is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Still in half guard, Hughes seems content to control.
It looks like Hughes might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Wulver wants to improve his position but Hughes is controlling well.
Hughes is controlling the pace.
Wulver slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hughes is stalling in the full guard.
Wulver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hughes is one step ahead there.
Hughes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wulver is looking to stand up but Hughes isn't so interested in that idea.
Hughes's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wulver throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hughes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

A quick step to the side and Wulver tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wulver lands a glancing blow to the side of Hughes's head.
We've been informed that Hughes has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Wulver swings for the body but Hughes moves out of range.

and Wulver counters with a left to the body.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hughes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Hughes throws a hook to the side of Wulver's head but Wulver sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wulver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it.

Hughes instigates a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Wulver's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Wulver misses with the head strike.
Hughes working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Wulver is pressed up against the cage. Hughes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Wulver down to the mat. Wulver avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hughes shoots in looking for a takedown. Wulver tries to sprawl out of it but Hughes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wulver manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hughes doesn't manage to clinch there - Wulver circles away.
Wulver comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Wulver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it.
Hughes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wulver defends it well.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hughes or perhaps it was just good defense by Wulver, which made it look bad.
Wulver seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wulver lands with a straight right. Hughes didn't see that one coming.

Wulver scores with a hook to the body. Hughes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Wulver lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hughes circles away quickly and effectively.
Wulver fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hughes manages to avoid it.
Wulver misses with a wild body shot.
Hughes unleashes a big counter combination but Wulver bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Wulver swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Wulver as Hughes shoots in.
The crowd cheers as Wulver lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hughes doesn't seem phased though.

Hughes throws a jab but it's blocked by Wulver.
Hughes is still on wobbly legs! Can Wulver finish him?
Wulver lands with a straight right. Hughes didn't see that one coming.
William Wulver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A cross from Hughes lands.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hughes throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wulver stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hughes seems to have recovered his senses.
Wulver takes a swing at Hughes's ribcage but misses.
Hughes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hughes moves out of range of the strikes.
Wulver connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hughes. Hughes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Wulver throws a right hand that Hughes ducks under and follows up with a left that Hughes also avoids with ease.
Hughes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Wulver misses with a double jab.

Hughes gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hughes goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Wulver wants to get back to striking at distance but Hughes won't allow it.

Hughes has Wulver pressed against the cage, preventing Wulver from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hughes seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hughes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Wulver is in all sorts of trouble here.
Hughes trying to control but Wulver is having none of it.

Wulver on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wulver tries to get out of the position.
Let's hope that Hughes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Oooooh!!! Wulver has knocked Hughes down with a huge combo! Wulver steps away and waves a wobbly Hughes back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Wulver drops Hughes with a straight right hand, right on the button! Wulver follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Wulver!
