Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamison Espinoza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Reggie Kray! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kray clinches. Espinoza is looking for a takedown. A short right from Kray on the inside. Espinoza is trying to drag Kray to the mat but Kray just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Nice elbow from Kray. Kray with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kray's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kray has managed to clinch.
Espinoza has clasped his hands together around Kray's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Kray sneaks out the side door and pushes Espinoza away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kray has Espinoza up against the cage in a clinch.
Espinoza is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamison Espinoza. That's going to take a lot out of him. A nice right hand lands inside from Kray. Espinoza is working for takedown but Kray is calmly controlling the position for now. Kray escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Kray tries to land a knee to the head but Espinoza blocks with his arms.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kray connects with a knee to the head.
Kray working hard to break the clinch. Espinoza decides to pull guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kray trying to stand up but can't free himself from Espinoza's guard. Kray trying to control but Espinoza is working from the bottom. Kray won't allow Espinoza to sweep him here. Kray wanted to stand there but Espinoza had control of the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Espinoza looking for a sweep. Not yet Espinoza, not yet. Espinoza managing to control the position. Espinoza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kray is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kray stands up from Espinoza's guard - Kray perhaps looking for a knockout. Kray has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kray lands a nice elbow. Espinoza tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kray just stands there and leans against the cage. Kray breaks the clinch.
Kray gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kray lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Jamison Espinoza's cut is getting worse. Nice elbow from Kray.
Espinoza is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kray tries to land a knee to the head but Espinoza blocks with his arms.
Oh Espinoza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Kray tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Kray pulls back and lands a big elbow that stuns Espinoza! Kray unloads with more strikes and Espinoza sinks to his knees! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Reggie Kray!
