Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Auguste Grimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Binse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grimm comes to the cage accompanied by David Gilmour - There's No Way Out Of Here. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
30 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Auguste Grimm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
30 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Christopher Binse! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Binse scores with a jab. Grimm acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Grimm throws a series of punches but Binse avoids them all with ease. Binse tries to clinch but Grimm moves out of range. Grimm pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Binse keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Binse cracks the inside of Grimm's front leg. Grimm avoids the body shot from Binse.
Binse keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Binse appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Grimm takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Binse shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grimm as he avoids it easily. Binse blocks a head kick by Grimm.
Binse misses with a body kick. Binse has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Grimm is landing a low percentage of strikes. Binse is looking to land body kicks. Binse ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Grimm drops his hands momentarily and Binse takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Grimm stuffs the takedown attempt from Binse. Binse gets slowly back to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Grimm swats away the attempt to clinch by Binse. Grimm is looking to counter with a body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Binse lands with a thumping leg kick.
Grimm misses with a jab, cross combination.
Grimm blocks the body kick.
Binse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Grimm pinned against the cage. Grimm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Auguste Grimm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christopher Binse. Grimm lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A head kick by Binse misses and Grimm counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Binse lands a jab. Binse avoids a kick to the body.
Binse moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Auguste Grimm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Grimm takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Grimm.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Binse.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Grimm pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. It seemed like Binse was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. We've been told by Grimm's head coaches at El Tico 's Academy that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Binse misses with a series of wild punches.
Christopher Binse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Grimm misses with a leg kick. Grimm throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Binse gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Grimm counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Binse takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Binse moves into range and clinches up with Grimm. A hook to the body from Grimm.
Binse wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Grimm stalling.
Grimm tries to work over Binse's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Binse lands a left hand that snaps the head of Grimm backwards. Binse manages to break the clinch.
Binse takes a shot right to the bread basket. Grimm throws a leg kick but Binse sees it coming and checks it nicely. Grimm scores with a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Binse fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Grimm is looking for a counter combo. Grimm fails to land with a series of punches.
Binse appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Grimm misses the shot to the body. A telegraphed right hand from Binse misses the target. Grimm throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Binse. Binse throws a leg kick which misses Grimm's front leg but catches the back leg as Grimm tries to avoid it. Grimm ducks under a wild hook from Binse. A little feinted left hand from Grimm on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Binse misses with a straight left. Grimm misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Grimm looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Binse throws a hook to the side of Grimm's head but Grimm sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Grimm throws a sloppy head kick and Binse moves out of range easily. Binse will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A combination from Binse does no damage. Grimm misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Binse tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Grimm manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Binse swinging wildly here.
As Binse looks to move away, Grimm throws a big counter combo but Binse just gets out of the way. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Grimm stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Binse. Grimm moves out of range as Binse throws a body kick.
Binse closes the distance and clinches. Binse changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Grimm fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Binse tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Grimm defends well and Binse ends up having to push Grimm into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Binse turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Grimm avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Binse scores with a slapping inside leg kick. A jab lands there for Binse. Binse blocks a leg kick. Binse throws a wild body kick that Grimm sees coming a mile off. Binse is looking to clinch but Grimm is avoiding it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Auguste Grimm will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Binse closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Binse dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Grimm. That did some damage! Binse misses with a jab, cross combination.
Grimm ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Binse moves away. Binse closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Grimm did well to prevent Binse getting side control. Grimm is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Binse looks to land a strike but Grimm avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Grimm seems keen to control Binse's posture. Grimm is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Binse trying to control the position from guard on top but Grimm is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Binse avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Grimm wants to get back to his feet but Binse is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Grimm working for a triangle but Binse defends it easily.

Grimm looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Binse puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Binse is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Binse lands strikes from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Grimm wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Binse working the head and body with strikes. Binse thows a huge punch but Grimm dodges it nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Binse has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Binse postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Grimm looks a forlorn figure.
Grimm tries to reverse the position but Binse maintains control. Grimm takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Grimm sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Grimm wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Binse winds up and cracks Grimm with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Still in half guard, Binse seems content to control. Binse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grimm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Grimm gets back to full guard.
Binse forces his way into half guard. Binse wants to pass the guard but Grimm is defending well. Grimm is pressing down on Binse's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Grimm keeping full guard, as Binse tries to pass. Grimm looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Binse with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Grimm looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Binse passes into side control.
Binse misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Grimm taking a bit of punishment here - Binse scoring with strikes. Binse throws a strike aimed at the side of Grimm's head but Grimm avoids it well. Christopher Binse has got the better of the ground game so far. Grimm is not content to let Binse control the position. Binse connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Grimm some visible discomfort.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grimm struggling a bit here. Grimm sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Binse showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Binse gets a takedown into half guard. Grimm tries to roll over but Binse keeps him under control. Grimm looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Grimm looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Binse is pressing down on Grimm's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grimm is holding on for now. Binse is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Binse seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Binse has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Binse content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Binse wants to control from the top but Grimm keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Binse throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Grimm works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Grimm has his hands on Binse's head, controlling the position. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Grimm trying to control the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Some bone on bone action there as Binse checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Binse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grimm's waist but Grimm gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Binse off to one side. Grimm tries to keep at a distance but Binse has taken the fight into the clinch. Binse lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Grimm tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Binse avoids it. Grimm lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Binse or not. Grimm with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Grimm lands a left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Binse doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Binse lands with a short head shot on the inside. Grimm swings wildly with an uppercut but Binse uses good head movement to avoid it. Binse doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Binse misses with a hook from the clinch. Binse swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Binse softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Binse breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Auguste Grimm is winning the standup battle so far. Grimm throws a hook but Binse avoids it easily. Binse tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Grimm was well out of range. Poor timing from Binse. Grimm slips under a jab. Binse scores with a nice head shot. Binse looks to clinch and Grimm counters with a nice kick to the body. Binse misses with a looping left. Binse with a nice cross. Grimm scores with a jab to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Binse is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Binse throws a body punch but Grimm moves out of range. Grimm missing with a left hand there. Binse was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Binse! But no joy. Grimm takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
As Binse looks to move away, Grimm throws a big counter combo but Binse just gets out of the way. Binse tries to score a power double leg takedown but Grimm sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Binse somewhat. Binse throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Grimm's head. Binse keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Binse lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Binse misses with a hook. Grimm throws a wild body kick that Binse sees coming a mile off. Binse shoots in and drives through. Grimm sprawls well.
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Binse comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Binse has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
