Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Bowhime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Kildahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kildahl's choice of entrance music: Sound of Madness. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Bowhime! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Kildahl! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bowhime shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bowhime postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kildahl is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bowhime, into his guard. Bowhime is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bowhime looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bowhime looking for a guillotine here but Kildahl defends easily.
Bowhime working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kildahl doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kildahl manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Bowhime is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Bowhime is breathing heavily. Kildahl gets to his feet - Bowhime follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kildahl circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bowhime motions for Kildahl to come forward. Bowhime throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kildahl closes the distance and clinches up with Bowhime, looking for a takedown. Kildahl pushes Bowhime against the cage but Bowhime circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bowhime tries to clinch but Kildahl moves out of range. Bowhime is looking to take this fight into the clinch. No luck for Kildahl with that takedown attempt. A leg kick checked by Kildahl. Kildahl throws a nice outside leg kick. Kildahl tries for a takedown but Bowhime circles away easily and Bowhime counters by moving into the clinch. John Bowhime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Kildahl. Kildahl avoiding damage as Bowhime throws knees to the body.
Kildahl manages to pull guard.
Bowhime wants to control from the top but Kildahl keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kildahl wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Bowhime drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kildahl dives on top into guard. Kildahl trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bowhime's guard. Bowhime controls Kildahl momentarily but Kildahl frees himself. Kildahl sitting in guard, not really doing much. Bowhime has momentary wrist control but Kildahl slips an elbow through the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kildahl trying to control but Bowhime is working from the bottom. Bowhime working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kildahl has passed into half guard!
Kildahl stalling. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kildahl connects with a nice short shot to Bowhime's temple. Kildahl passes to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kildahl is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bowhime will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bowhime is looking to reverse the position. Kildahl decides to stand back up. Kildahl darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Bowhime pushes Kildahl off looking to stand but Kildahl dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sam Kildahl dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kildahl fails to land the takedown. Bowhime is looking to clinch. Bowhime tries to clinch up but Kildahl circles away and keeps his distance. Kildahl closes the distance but Bowhime moves to the side and Bowhime counters by moving into the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Kildahl takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Kildahl fails to pull guard.
Bowhime prevents a takedown attempt there.
John Bowhime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sam Kildahl. Kildahl tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bowhime smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bowhime has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bowhime unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kildahl lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Kildahl blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kildahl is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowhime is struggling to control the position. Bowhime trying to control the position but instead, Kildahl has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bowhime into the cage. Kildahl drags the fight down to the ground.
Bowhime drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kildahl looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kildahl looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kildahl! Bowhime is looking to reverse the position. Bowhime looks to move to half guard but instead Kildahl has passed into mount! Damn! Bowhime is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The referee warns Bowhime that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowhime keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kildahl looking to isolate an arm here. Bowhime doesn't see it coming and as Kildahl extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Kildahl!
