Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cory Bumstead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrea Lucchesi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Andrea Lucchesi!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Michael Johnstone and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bumstead tries to clinch up.
And Lucchesi responds with a good body kick, but Bumstead manages to step out the way in time.

Bumstead tries to keep at a distance but Lucchesi has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lucchesi cracks Bumstead with a nice body shot.

Lucchesi gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Bumstead on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bumstead is trying to maintain the position but Lucchesi is very close to passing his half guard.
Well, if Lucchesi is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

It looks like Lucchesi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bumstead is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lucchesi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Lucchesi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Lucchesi decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bumstead to his feet.

Lucchesi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bumstead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lucchesi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bumstead uses from the top position.

Let's hope that Lucchesi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lucchesi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bumstead has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bumstead is trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Lucchesi decides to stand back up.

Lucchesi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lucchesi lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Lucchesi turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lucchesi manages to end up in side control.

Lucchesi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Lucchesi closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bumstead is in a horrible position here. Lucchesi smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Lucchesi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bumstead looks a forlorn figure.

Lucchesi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Bumstead has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Andrea Lucchesi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well Lucchesi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
