Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Val Ayala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andris Jakusans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andris Jakusans!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ayala tries to clinch there but Jakusans circles away.

Jakusans drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ayala tries to escape but Jakusans is in control.
Jakusans wants to stand but Ayala is controlling his arm.
Jakusans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ayala keeps working.
Jakusans controls the position from side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jakusans decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jakusans rushes Ayala and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jakusans pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jakusans misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jakusans feints and as Ayala raises his hands in defense, Jakusans changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jakusans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ayala swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ayala looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ayala looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jakusans is working Ayala over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jakusans engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jakusans drives through and clinches with Ayala against the cage.
Ayala changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jakusans fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jakusans closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Ayala looking for a kimura from the bottom but Jakusans passes into side control!
Jakusans lands a few punches from side control.
Jakusans is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ayala will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Jakusans's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Jakusans wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ayala, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andris Jakusans dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Jakusans shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jakusans wants to take a breather but Ayala is having none of it.
Ayala taking some punishment here, with Jakusans in his half guard.

Jakusans is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Andris Jakusans has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jakusans is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ayala sees it coming and defends easily.
Oh Ayala is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Jakusans passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Ayala!

Ayala throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Jakusans lands a big elbow - Ayala is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Ayala is forced to tap out!
