Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vaughn Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Horner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas Horner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vaughn Ellis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Horner! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jorge Garcia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horner lands a high kick!
It looks like Vaughn Ellis has been cut. Horner drives through with a takedown into Ellis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ellis kicks Horner off and gets to his feet. Horner shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Horner slows the pace down in half guard. Horner wants to pass the guard but Ellis is defending well. Ellis is looking to control Horner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ellis avoid being mounted? Horner is trying to control. Ellis wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Horner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Horner throwing shots but Ellis is blocking nicely. Horner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ellis is looking to control Horner's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ellis avoid being mounted? Horner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Horner wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ellis fails with a takedown attempt. Horner tries to counter by closing the distance. Horner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ellis napping and manages to drive through into side control! Ellis struggling a bit here. Ellis tries to get back to half guard but can't. That's three minutes gone in the round. Horner decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ellis to his feet. Ellis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ellis showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Horner wants to improve his position but Ellis is controlling well.
Ellis lands with a punch from half guard. Horner has hold of Ellis's hands but Ellis slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Ellis throwing shots but Horner is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Horner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ellis drops an elbow to the side of Horner's head. Horner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ellis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ellis scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Horner looks winded! Ellis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ellis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Horner looks like he's trying to stand up.
Horner is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ellis pulls his head out easily. Ellis lands strikes from half guard. Ellis not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ellis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Horner's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Vaughn Ellis will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Vaughn Ellis's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ellis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Horner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Horner dives in and scores a takedown into Ellis's guard. Ellis is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Horner dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Horner looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Ellis is avoiding damage well.
Ellis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Horner is pressing down on Ellis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ellis lands a couple of elbows. Horner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ellis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Horner is breathing heavily.

Ellis scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ellis really is a fat lump. Ellis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Ellis with a nice head shot there. Horner is wriggling around but Ellis manages to pass to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ellis throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Ellis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Ellis seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Is there anything that Horner can do to turn this around? Ellis is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Ellis drops an elbow to the side of Horner's head. Ellis is working away from the top position though. Ellis lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ellis lands a nice short elbow. Horner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ellis. Ellis missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vaughn Ellis dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Vaughn Ellis's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Horner throws a right hand that Ellis ducks under and follows up with a left that Ellis also avoids with ease. Horner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ellis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Ellis shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Horner pinned against the cage. Horner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Horner throws the kick towards the body but Ellis avoids it. Horner gets a takedown into half guard. Ellis makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ellis tries to score a body lock takedown but Horner shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ellis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ellis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ellis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Vaughn Ellis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Horner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Horner gets to his feet. Ellis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Horner closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Horner wants to pass the guard but Ellis is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Horner is thwarting Ellis's attempts to control the position.
