Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerald Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albrecht Habsburg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Albrecht Habsburg looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerald Dyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Albrecht Habsburg!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Habsburg rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dyer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Habsburg looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Habsburg fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A counter left hand to the body from Dyer misses its target.
Habsburg fails with an attempt to clinch.

Dyer shoots in and bounces Habsburg off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Habsburg is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Dyer dives into side control.


Dyer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dyer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dyer controls the position.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dyer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Habsburg for as long as he can get away with.
Dyer misses with the ground and pound.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Habsburg is letting Dyer control him for a moment.
Dyer throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Dyer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dyer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Habsburg sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Dyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dyer tries to score with some ground and pound. Habsburg controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dyer cracks Habsburg with a big elbow.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Habsburg tries to clinch but Dyer is having none of it.
Dyer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Habsburg sprawls well. Habsburg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dyer gets slowly back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Habsburg misses with a hook.
Albrecht Habsburg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Habsburg throws a combination that misses
and Dyer counters with a two punch combo.

Habsburg gets tackled into the cage by Dyer. Dyer maintains the clinch.

Dyer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheers as Dyer lands an impressive looking overhand right. Habsburg doesn't seem phased though.
Dyer shoots in for a double leg but Habsburg sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dyer slips a jab and a cross from Habsburg.
It looked like Dyer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Habsburg tries to keep at a distance but Dyer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dyer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Habsburg is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerald Dyer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dyer wants to break free but Habsburg has control.

Dyer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dyer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Dyer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Habsburg's head.
Habsburg is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Dyer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Habsburg as he jumps to the side.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dyer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Habsburg swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Dyer content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Habsburg looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Habsburg has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dyer uses from the top position.
Dyer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dyer connects with a couple of short punches.
Dyer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Dyer slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dyer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Habsburg's head.
Dyer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dyer tries to free his leg and advance position but Habsburg is retaining full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Habsburg misses with a double jab
and Dyer counters with a one-two to the body.

Dyer clinches up against the cage.
Dyer wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dyer is trying to break the clinch but Habsburg has him pressed against the cage.

Dyer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dyer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Habsburg can do to turn this around?
Habsburg throws a nice looking combination but Dyer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dyer is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Habsburg.

Dyer shoots in looking for a takedown. Habsburg tries to sprawl out of it but Dyer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Habsburg manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nice takedown defense from Habsburg. No joy for Dyer on that attempt.

Habsburg gets caught napping as Dyer dives in and scores a takedown. Habsburg manages to retain guard.
Habsburg is wriggling around but Dyer manages to pass to half guard.
Jerald Dyer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dyer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Habsburg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Dyer is nestled in close to Habsburg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Well, if Dyer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jerald Dyer.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
