Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Blair Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leo Souza!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill tries a head kick but it misses.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oneill sprawls well. Oneill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Souza gets slowly back to his feet.
Souza looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Oneill is looking to counter the offense by Souza and move into the clinch.
Souza fails with a takedown attempt.
Blair Oneill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leo Souza.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza tries to land a front kick but Oneill steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Souza is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Oneill will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Souza shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oneill pinned against the cage. Oneill gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oneill seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Souza wants to control but Oneill postures up.

Souza looks to move to half guard but instead Oneill has passed into mount! Damn!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneill lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Souza is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Oneill scores with a couple of nice shots.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Oneill lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Blair Oneill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Souza tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Oneill seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Oneill has closed the distance and engaged Souza in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Oneill looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Souza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oneill but Oneill pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Souza throws an elbow that misses. Oneill uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Souza's guard. Nice move by Oneill!

Oneill is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Souza's shoulder. That is not cool.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Oneill connects with a high kick.

Oneill moves into the clinch successfully.
Oneill jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Souza walks away with a smile on his face. Oneill gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Oneill has managed to clinch.
Souza tries to pull guard but Oneill forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The referee calls for Oneill to work.

Oneill is fighting off a takedown attempt but Souza is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Oneill to the mat. Oneill regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Blair Oneill is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
