Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Markus Humpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danger Ranger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ranger is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Welcome to the Jungle. Markus Humpert had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Markus Humpert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danger Ranger!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ranger shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ranger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Humpert is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Humpert sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Humpert won't allow Ranger to pass to mount.
Ranger wants to take a breather but Humpert is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ranger trying to control from half guard but Humpert is working away.

Ranger is looking for a kimura but Humpert is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ranger to get the leverage.

Ranger is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Humpert sees it coming and defends easily.
Humpert wants to improve his position but Ranger is controlling well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Humpert tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Humpert shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ranger's guard.

Humpert passes Ranger's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Ranger is trying to get back to full guard.
Humpert is pressing down on Ranger's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ranger is holding on for now.
Ranger is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Humpert wants to take a breather but Ranger is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Humpert misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice takedown defense from Humpert. No joy for Ranger on that attempt.

It looks like Danger Ranger has been cut.
Ranger blocks a head kick by Humpert.
Humpert closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ranger circles away.

Humpert shoots in and bounces Ranger off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Humpert postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ranger is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Humpert, into his guard.

Humpert is looking for a triangle but Ranger pushes his legs off easily.
Humpert is trying to keep Ranger in close.

Ranger thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Humpert holds on and takes a little breather.

Humpert has his foot on Ranger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ranger works his way back into a safe position though.
Ranger wants to control from the top but Humpert keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ranger drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ranger jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Humpert working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ranger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ranger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ranger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Ranger has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Humpert is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ranger defends it well.

Ranger is staying active underneath Humpert, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ranger tries to close the distance and clinch but Humpert swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Ranger looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Humpert pushes past his half guard into mount!

Humpert is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ranger can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ranger is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Ranger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Humpert swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Humpert explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
A nice inside leg kick there by Humpert. That's going to slow Ranger down.
Humpert lands a head kick. Ranger smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Humpert throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ranger fails in his attempt to clinch.

Danger Ranger is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ranger stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Humpert.

and Humpert counters with a single leg into guard. Ranger didn't expect that.

Humpert is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Humpert avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Danger Ranger has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Humpert stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ranger swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well Humpert has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
