Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gale Mccarty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Allen Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gale Mccarty looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gale Mccarty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Allen Baker!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Mccarty kicks Baker off and gets to his feet.
Mccarty could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Baker dodges the punch combination from Mccarty.

Baker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mccarty to the mat! Mccarty manages to get full guard.
Baker controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Baker throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mccarty wants to sweep but no luck.

Mccarty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Baker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Baker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Baker must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mccarty has his foot on Baker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baker works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mccarty swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Mccarty tries to pull guard but Baker forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Mccarty tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mccarty wants to stand up but Baker is controlling him.

Mccarty is looking for a triangle but Baker pushes his legs off easily.

Baker is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Baker bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mccarty manages to work his way to half guard, despite Baker's best efforts.

Baker decides to stand and escape the position.

Baker shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mccarty manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Baker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Mccarty had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Baker defends it easily.
Mccarty can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Baker controls the pace.

Baker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Baker counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Baker.

Baker turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Mccarty bucks up and tries to throw Baker off but instead Baker has got his back!

Baker is looking for the choke from the back position but Mccarty is controlling his hands well.

Baker is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Mccarty. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Mccarty rolls, trying to escape but Baker keeps control of the position.
Baker throwing damaging strikes from the back! Mccarty could be in trouble here!
Baker has the hooks in. Mccarty is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I would just about give that final round to Allen Baker.
Well Baker has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
