Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Grant Fuhr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waldo Gretzky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuhr has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Gretzky. That's going to slow Fuhr down.
Fuhr is breathing heavily.
Gretzky moves into the clinch.
Gretzky breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Grant Fuhr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gretzky throws a leg kick which misses Fuhr's front leg but catches the back leg as Fuhr tries to avoid it.

Fuhr takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fuhr is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Fuhr shoots and misses
and Gretzky counters with an outside leg kick.

Fuhr tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Gretzky to counter with a crisp jab.
Gretzky connects with a high kick.
Gretzky throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fuhr's waist but Fuhr gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gretzky off to one side.
Fuhr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fuhr trying to mount his opponent but Gretzky defends it.

Gretzky is holding on to half guard well.
Fuhr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gretzky doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fuhr.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gretzky lands a right hook to the body.
Gretzky stuffs the takedown attempt from Fuhr. Fuhr gets slowly back to his feet.
Gretzky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gretzky is thwarting Fuhr's attempts to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gretzky decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Fuhr is trying to maintain the position but Gretzky is very close to passing his half guard.
Gretzky stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Fuhr to get to his feet.
Grant Fuhr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Gretzky counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Fuhr's guard now.
Gretzky wants to stand but Fuhr has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gretzky has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Fuhr looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Fuhr has his foot on Gretzky's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gretzky works his way back into a safe position though.
Fuhr looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gretzky puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fuhr is staying active underneath Gretzky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Fuhr wants to control but Gretzky is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fuhr is trying to get back to full guard.
Fuhr moves into full guard.

Gretzky is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fuhr escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gretzky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fuhr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gretzky wants to stand but Fuhr is controlling his posture from full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fuhr is on top in guard.

Waldo Gretzky showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gretzky shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gretzky showed some decent athleticism there.

Gretzky pushes Fuhr up against the cage in a clinch.
Fuhr jumps guard but Gretzky stands there with Fuhr around his waist. Fuhr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gretzky closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fuhr to the mat! Fuhr manages to get full guard.
Gretzky wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Fuhr's closed guard. He's half up but Fuhr has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Fuhr pivots and extends the arm, Gretzky falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Fuhr! Well done that man!
