Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarred Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). North is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Men at Work - Down Under. Miles North has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jarred Bowers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jarred Bowers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Miles North! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! North takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Bowers blocks a head kick by North.
North pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Bowers drops down looking for a counter takedown but North sprawls and moves away. Bowers checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Bowers attempts a counter takedown but North avoids it well and moves away. North is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. North throws a half hearted mid kick. North walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bowers checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. North scores with a jab to the jaw. North tries a head kick but it misses.
Bowers throws a quick counter head kick but North was just out of range. Bowers tries to close the distance and clinch up but North swats him away and circles back towards the center. Miles North seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. North lands with a kick to the temple. Bowers shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Bowers on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. North tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bowers tries to counter with a takedown but North is quick to defend against it. Bowers stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from North.
That's one minute gone in the round. North scores with a leg kick.
A head kick misses from North. Bowers checks a low kick from North. North uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bowers. A clash of legs there as Bowers blocks the low kick. North fakes the leg kick and cracks Bowers in the body. North misses with a head kick.
Bowers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. North scores with a nice body kick.
Bowers gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bowers tries for a takedown. No joy.
Bowers keeps control of North as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. North is pressed up against the cage. Bowers has hold of a leg and is looking to drag North down to the mat. North avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. North throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Bowers's head.
It looks like Jarred Bowers has been cut. North throws a sloppy head kick so Bowers counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. North has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bowers off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bowers takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. North punishes Bowers's body with a nice straight punch. North tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. North moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Bowers really is a fat lump. North throws a nice inside leg kick. Bowers dives in for a single leg takedown but North sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jarred Bowers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. North throws a quick inside leg kick. North throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bowers jabbing away but nothing is landing. North was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Bowers really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... North lands a leg kick that knocks Bowers off balance momentarily. North uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Bowers blocks a head kick by North.
Bowers drives through with a takedown into guard. North pushes Bowers off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! North lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. North lands with a slapping head kick. North fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bowers on the side of the head. A nice inside leg kick there by North. That's going to slow Bowers down. North lands a head kick!
Bowers blocks the body kick.
North moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
North throws a head kick that Bowers semi-blocks.
North connects with a high kick. Bowers has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bowers there as he acknowledges the shot.
Bowers is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miles North dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jarred Bowers's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A good leg kick by North. North throws a nice outside leg kick. Bowers clinches up with North and pushes him back against the cage. Bowers pulls guard. North wants to stand but Bowers is controlling his posture from full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. North decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bowers, up you get! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. North misses with a head kick.
North is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. North tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. North pushes Bowers away with a front kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowers throws a lazy uppercut
enabling North to counter with a crisp jab. Bowers throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Bowers is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. North drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. North gets to his feet - Bowers follows without any prompting. North throws a sloppy head kick and Bowers moves out of range easily. Miles North seems to be getting the better of the standup. North throws a nice outside leg kick. Bowers avoids the head kick by North.
A low kick from North misses and Bowers counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bowers. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! North trying to keep a closed guard but Bowers is proving a slippery customer.
Bowers wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of North's closed guard. He's half up but North has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! North pivots and extends the arm, Bowers falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by North! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Miles North! A very excited looking Miles North made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
