Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gerardo Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Crowd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jack Crowd was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Crowd! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Anthony Taglia and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crowd closes the distance and clinches up with Steele, looking for a takedown. Crowd pushes Steele against the cage but Steele circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Steele is looking to counter the offense by Crowd and move into the clinch. Steele looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Crowd is looking to stand back up but Steele counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Crowd.
Crowd is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steele pulls his head out easily. Steele seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steele looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Crowd fails in his attempt to clinch. Steele throws a big counter combination but Crowd scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Crowd wants to clinch but Steele slips to the side and Steele counters with a two punch combo. Steele closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Crowd to the mat! Crowd manages to get full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crowd has momentary wrist control but Steele slips an elbow through the middle. Steele postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. That's four minutes gone in the round. Crowd wants to clinch up but Steele keeps it at a distance. Steele closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Still in half guard, Steele seems content to control. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Steele lands a nice short elbow. Crowd is trying to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Steele connects with a nice short shot to Crowd's temple. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Steele gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Steele closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crowd shoots in looking for a takedown. Steele tries to sprawl out of it but Crowd keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steele manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Crowd fakes the leg kick and cracks Steele in the body. Crowd goes for a double leg but Steele avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Steele continues to drive forward. Steele wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Crowd scores with a takedown into Steele's guard. Steele has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Crowd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crowd preventing the sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Steele holds on and takes a little breather. Crowd stopping the sweep attempt from Steele. Steele wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Steele manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Crowd manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Crowd controls Steele momentarily but Steele frees himself. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Steele's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Crowd looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Steele passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Steele is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Crowd wants to control but Steele is keeping busy.
Crowd trying to get back to full guard but Steele takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Steele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Steele looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crowd tries to lock up and control but Steele gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Crowd regains half guard. Nice strikes from Steele there. Steele is trying to work for a kimura but Crowd is defending well.

Crowd shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steele but Steele pushes him off and we're back to square one. It looked like Steele was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Steele is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Crowd can do to turn this around? Crowd stuns Steele with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A chopping leg kick lands by Steele. Crowd misses with a head kick.

Steele slips a nice elbow through Crowd's hands, connecting with Crowd's forehead. Gerardo Steele overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Steele decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Crowd tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Steele manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Steele dives in and scores a takedown into Crowd's guard. Crowd tries to strike from the bottom.
Crowd throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Steele escapes and throws Crowd's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steele lands a decent elbow from side control. Steele landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Steele lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Crowd taking punishment in the form of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Crowd has a hand on Steele's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Steele takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Steele landing strikes from the mount and Crowd is in trouble! Steele content just to control the position here. BOOM! Steele connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that's the end of the fight! Gerardo Steele showed his dominance in that final round. Well Steele has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
