And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Taylor Otiwato!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otiwato shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Buckley pinned against the cage. Buckley gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Buckley is trying to force a seperation but Otiwato has the dominant position.

Buckley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Otiwato.
Buckley went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Buckley's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Buckley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Buckley is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Otiwato looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buckley is fending him off so far but Otiwato persists. Nope, Buckley circles away and we're back to standing.

Otiwato connects with a leg kick. Buckley looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Buckley has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
