Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Spackman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, James Wong! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wong throws out a loose jab but Spackman uses good head movement to avoid it. Wong throws a right and a left that both miss. Spackman has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. No joy there for Wong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spackman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Wong lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spackman circles away quickly and effectively. Wong attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wong wants to stand but Spackman has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spackman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wong throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

John Spackman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Spackman throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wong uses it to pass to side control.
Spackman is trying to control Wong's posture but Wong avoids it. Wong stands up and beckons Spackman to his feet. Wong throws a combination that misses and Spackman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Spackman.
