Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frederic Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frederic Bean! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jorge Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Bean being controlled here, momentarily. Bean avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Bean is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bean controls Rodriguez momentarily but Rodriguez frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rodriguez controls from within his opponent's guard. Bean working for submissions but it's allowed Rodriguez to get to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bean avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Rodriguez. Rodriguez tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bean knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rodriguez controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bean trying to control but Rodriguez postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rodriguez feints and then dives in with a takedown. You can't force these things though and Rodriguez defends well. Rodriguez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bean is trying to control the position but Rodriguez postures up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Danga de danga de dang - Rodriguez scores with a four punch combination! Bean gets caught napping as Rodriguez dives in and scores a takedown. Bean manages to retain guard. Bean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rodriguez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rodriguez stays in close to Bean's body and controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodriguez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rodriguez lands in his opponent's guard. Rodriguez showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Rodriguez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rodriguez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bean is proving hard to escape from. Rodriguez won't allow Bean to sweep him here. Rodriguez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Rodriguez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bean's head.
Frederic Bean's cut is getting worse. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rodriguez's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rodriguez controls the pace. Rodriguez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bean has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rodriguez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Rodriguez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Jeez, Frederic Bean's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Rodriguez swinging wildly here.
As Rodriguez tries to get set, Bean tries to push him back and clinch up but Rodriguez manages to avoid the attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bean throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rodriguez's waist but Rodriguez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bean off to one side. Bean keeps the fight on the outside. Rodriguez dives in and scores a takedown into Bean's guard. Rodriguez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rodriguez tries to stand but Bean is controlling from the bottom. Rodriguez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez wants to get up but he can't break Bean's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Bean working a defensive guard but Rodriguez passes into half guard.
Rodriguez wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Bean uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Rodriguez is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bean is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jorge Rodriguez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Frederic Bean's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Rodriguez swings away with a leg kick that misses. Bean wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Good shot there by Rodriguez. Rodriguez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bean's half guard. Rodriguez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rodriguez is looking to control Bean but Bean is wriggling around and keeping busy. Bean is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight! Jorge Rodriguez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Rodriguez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
