Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cody Zeller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zeller misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rubin.
Zeller loads up on a big right hand but Rubin slips the punch.
Rubin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Rubin has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Zeller.
Zeller has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Rubin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Rubin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Zeller throws a low kick, looking for Rubin's leg but Rubin calmly moves out of range.

Rubin tries to buck Zeller off but Zeller is having none of it.

Zeller throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rubin escapes and throws Zeller's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rubin is not going to allow Zeller to sit and survive in this position.

Zeller wants to land a leg kick but Rubin is out of range.
A bone on bone clash there as Rubin blocks the leg kick.
A head kick misses from Zeller.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rubin! But no joy.

Zeller misses with a few strikes there.
Rubin drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Zeller defends it well.

and Rubin counters with a shoot takedown. Zeller fights it but they end up in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rubin lands a couple of elbows.
Zeller looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Rubin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zeller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
