Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Musial Stanson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
25 - 21 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lamont Banner! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanson drives through and clinches with Banner against the cage.

Stanson lands with a short head shot on the inside. Banner wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Stanson cracks Banner with a nice body shot. Stanson gets control of Banner's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stanson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Stanson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Banner manages to get himself to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stanson won't allow Banner to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banner keeping moving, preventing Stanson from controlling successfully. Stanson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Stanson trying to control the position from guard on top but Banner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stanson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Banner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Banner has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Stanson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Banner has tightened it up now! Stanson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Lamont Banner! During a confident post fight interview, Lamont Banner thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
