Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Connor Kenway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenway comes into the arena with Warriors blaring out of the sound system. Jacob Connor Kenway has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Connor Kenway !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, John Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Darius Henderson and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenway tries to bum rush Jackson with a series of wild strikes but Jackson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jackson throws a hook but Kenway avoids it easily.
Jackson tries to score with a low kick but Kenway moves his leg out of the way.
Jackson scores with a sloppy right hand. Kenway should have avoided that one.
Jackson throws a series of punches but Kenway avoids them all with ease.
Kenway is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kenway crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Jackson - the referee stops the clock and Kenway gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Jackson. Kenway manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kenway looking to score a takedown here. Jackson is defending well but Kenway drives through and ends up in Jackson's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kenway accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kenway drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Kenway off! Kenway jumps back into Jackson's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Jackson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

The crowd cheers as Jackson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kenway doesn't seem phased though.

Kenway shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Jackson throws out a counter right but Kenway avoids it with no problem.

Jackson tries to sprawl but Kenway drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kenway thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Kenway is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jackson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kenway .

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jacob Connor Kenway will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Jackson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
John Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kenway misses with a hook. Jackson ducked under it nicely.
Kenway 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jackson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kenway scrambles back to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kenway paws at him with a jab and circles away.
As Jackson looks to move away, Kenway throws a big counter combo but Jackson just gets out of the way.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jackson. That's going to slow Kenway down.

It seemed like Jackson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Good leg kick by Jackson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Jackson throws a leg kick which misses Kenway 's front leg but catches the back leg as Kenway tries to avoid it.

Kenway lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.

Nice straight punches there by Jackson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jackson.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Kenway to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kenway is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

John Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

John Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
