Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonas Sieg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jasper Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonas Sieg!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sieg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sieg looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Sieg is trying to work for a kimura but Walsh is defending well.

Walsh kicks off Sieg and gets to his feet.

Walsh moves into the clinch.

Walsh has picked Sieg up - he's going for a ride! Walsh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Sieg wants to stand back up but Walsh manages to pass into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Walsh tries for a kimura but Sieg is defending well.

Walsh stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Walsh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The referee calls for Walsh to work.

Walsh decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Walsh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sieg defends it easily.
Sieg in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Walsh is looking to stand up but Sieg isn't so interested in that idea.

Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Sieg wants to control from the top but Walsh keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sieg throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Walsh looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sieg is one step ahead there.

Walsh scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Sieg throws a right and a left that both miss.

Walsh closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sieg quickly recovers to half guard.
Sieg pushes Walsh off but Walsh dives into side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walsh stands up and beckons Sieg to his feet.
A slow jab from Sieg misses its intended target.
Walsh throws a head kick that misses

so Sieg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walsh manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sieg manages to get himself to full guard.

Sieg wants to sweep but no luck.
Our spies down at at Cozad MMA St Petersburg inform us that Sieg has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Walsh has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sieg is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walsh closes the distance and clinches.

Walsh drags the fight down to the ground.

Walsh pushes Sieg off and gets back to his feet.

Sieg manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walsh on his heels. He'll look to pass Walsh's guard now, I'm sure.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walsh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sieg is breathing heavily.

Walsh looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Walsh wants to stand and escape but Sieg is having none of it.

Walsh has a closed guard, preventing Sieg from standing up.
Sieg is looking to advance position but Walsh has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Sieg can't escape the position.
Walsh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sieg can do to turn this around?

Walsh goes for an armbar but Sieg turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Sieg.

Sieg missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Walsh wants to stand up but Sieg is controlling him.
Walsh is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sieg is looking for a sweep. Walsh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Walsh is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sieg is just riding it out for now. Walsh eventually gives up the hold.
Jasper Walsh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sieg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Walsh is working away from the top position though.
Sieg is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Walsh landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Walsh is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walsh lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Sieg shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Walsh is trying to defend but Sieg finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Walsh gets full guard.
Walsh is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Walsh is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Sieg turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Walsh is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sieg is controlling him well.
Walsh is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sieg off and has taken his back!
I would not like to be Sieg right now.
Sieg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sieg is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Walsh is not going to allow Sieg to sit and survive in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Walsh just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
