PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Barlee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Revilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Revilla comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Phenomenon- Thousand Foot Krutch kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Barlee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Revilla!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Revilla closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Barlee sneaks back into half guard.
Barlee keeping control of the position.

Revilla is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Barlee defends it well.
Barlee wants to get back to his feet.

Barlee tries to roll over but Revilla keeps him under control.

Revilla should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barlee landing with the ground and pound.
Revilla has a closed guard, preventing Barlee from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That's time! Barlee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Barlee is on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Revilla can do anything to dispel that myth.

Barlee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Revilla manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barlee manages to get himself to full guard.
Revilla is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Revilla has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Barlee shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Revilla's guard.
Barlee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Revilla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Barlee's guard.

I've got Revilla winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
