The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Permitis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Knight wants to control but Permitis postures up.
Knight tries to buck Permitis off but Permitis is having none of it.
The ground and pound from Permitis seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knight throws a big right hand that misses.
Permitis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Knight wants to control from the top but Permitis keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Knight accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight drops back, looking for a kneebar! Permitis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Permitis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Permitis!

Knight has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Knight bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Permitis's head.
Permitis shoots for a double leg takedown but Knight sprawls well. He's pushed Permitis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Knight dodges the punch combination from Permitis.
A looping hook to the body misses from Knight. Permitis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Permitis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

It looks like Francois Permitis has been cut.
Knight lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Permitis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Knight stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knight wants it to stay on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Knight.

Permitis drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Knight dives on top into guard.

Permitis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knight is fending him off so far but Permitis persists. Nope, Knight circles away and we're back to standing.

And Permitis tries to counter it with a takedown but Knight pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Permitis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Knight's waist but Knight gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Permitis off to one side.
Permitis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Permitis is defended easily by Knight.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Permitis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Knight tries to throw a body punch but Permitis avoids it by throwing Knight back against the cage.

Permitis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Knight walks away with a smile on his face. Permitis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Knight takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Knight connects with a nice short shot to Permitis's temple.
