Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee comes to the cage accompanied by Beastie boys - Sabotage. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Lee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Earl Bird! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bird tries to close the distance and clinch but Lee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Lee changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Bird tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away. Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bird moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lee throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Bird tries to clinch up. Lee throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Bird on the side of the head. Lee lands with a straight right. Bird didn't see that one coming. Lee throws a right hand that Bird ducks under and follows up with a left that Bird also avoids with ease. Bird uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lee.
Lee misses with a body kick. Bird is looking to clinch but Lee is avoiding it.
Bird misses with a double jab
and Lee counters with a series of strikes. Bird will be more careful next time no doubt. Lee moves into range and connects with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lee throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Earl Bird has been cut. Lee waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Bird. Lee jabs at Bird's body. The fighters circle momentarily. Lee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Bird looks gassed! A punch combination from Lee misses. Bird tries to clinch but Lee moves away and Lee counters with a nice body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bird wants to clinch but Lee slips to the side and Lee counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Lee cracks a nice hook into Bird's ribs. Lee moves out of range as Bird strikes. Lee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Bird on the wrong end of a nice hook. Lee lands a lovely overhand right. Lee lands a nice hook to Bird's body. Bird takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Bird takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lee moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Peter Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bird seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Lee shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Bird is backing up but Lee catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Bird covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Lee Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Lee!
