Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clifton Navarro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santiago Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gonzalez dives in and scores a takedown into Navarro's guard.
Navarro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gonzalez trying to control but Navarro is working from the bottom.
Gonzalez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Navarro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gonzalez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Gonzalez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Navarro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gonzalez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Navarro has managed to free his arm - good work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gonzalez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Navarro's half guard.
Gonzalez content to control rather than advance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gonzalez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Navarro's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gonzalez is figuring out what he wants to do next.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santiago Gonzalez dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Gonzalez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Navarro is trying to control Gonzalez's posture but Gonzalez avoids it.
Santiago Gonzalez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gonzalez throws a strike aimed at the side of Navarro's head but Navarro avoids it well.
Gonzalez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Navarro's shoulder. That is not cool.

Gonzalez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Navarro, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Navarro can't do much from the bottom here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Gonzalez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Navarro has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gonzalez misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Gonzalez lands some shots froms side control.
Gonzalez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Navarro keeps working.
Gonzalez moves into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Navarro keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Gonzalez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gonzalez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Navarro looks a forlorn figure.
Poor strikes thrown by Gonzalez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gonzalez cracks Navarro with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Santiago Gonzalez!
