Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ziben Smif! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Stone! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smif lands a body shot.
Stone throws an off balance right hand
and Smif cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Stone doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Smif to counter with a crisp jab. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smif!
Stone misses with a takedown attempt - Smif sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Smif fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Smif fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Stone is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smif. Stone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smif avoids it really well and circles away. Ziben Smif has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Stone. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Stone shoots in and gets a takedown into Smif's guard. Smif has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Stone is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stone can't get the takedown.
Smif is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Stone looking for a takedown. Stone changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smif fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stone shoots in for a double leg but Smif sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Smif appears to be looking for a big counter. Smif darts in looking for a takedown but Stone gets double underhooks and turns Smif into the cage. Smif lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Stone at a distance.
Stone looks winded! Smif lands with a nice combination. Stone backs away looking to recover. No luck with that takedown attempt from Smif.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smif throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stone stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Good shot there by Smif. Smif has Stone up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smif has hold of one of Stone's legs. Stone is fighting the takedown attempt but Smif gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Smif looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Smif postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Smif scoring with some ground and pound. Smif not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Stone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Smif has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smif doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smif manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stone looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smif doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smif manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smif wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving. Stone working for a triangle but Smif defends it easily.
Smif advances position into side control! Stone is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Stone manages to work his way to half guard, despite Smif's best efforts. Smif tries to pass to full mount but Stone defends it. Stone looking for submissions off his back. Smif is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smif lands with a punch from half guard. Stone looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Smif scoring with strikes to the body and head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ziben Smif dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Smif goes for a double leg but Stone avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stone continues to drive forward. Stone closes the distance and clinches up with Smif, looking for a takedown. Stone pushes Smif against the cage but Smif circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Stone on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Stone on the wrong end of a nice hook. Stone is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Smif. Stone keeps the fight on the outside. Stone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smif is fending him off so far but Stone persists. Nope, Smif circles away and we're back to standing. Smif seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Smif throws a combination. Stone tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Good shot there by Smif. Stone with a lazy takedown attempt and Smif counters by moving into the clinch. Ziben Smif has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Stone. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A short right from Smif. Stone is breathing heavily. Smif unloads a knee to the mid-section. Stone lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Smif pushes Stone back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Smif is stalling here.

Smif lands a left and a right that send Stone crashing to the mat, dazed. Smif thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Stone is rocked! Stone ducks straight into an uppercut from Smif and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Stone manages to regain guard straight away.
Stone is still in real trouble! Can Smif finish him? The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smif gets to his feet and stands over Stone, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Stone felt that one! Smif unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Stone from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ziben Smif!
