Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Leskin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thurman Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxim Leskin!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leskin stuffs the takedown attempt from Wallace. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Leskin.
Leskin tries to clinch

and Wallace counters with a single leg into guard. Leskin didn't expect that.

Leskin manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Leskin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Leskin enables Wallace to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Leskin manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wallace trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Leskin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wallace really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wallace gets to his feet. Leskin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Leskin throws a big shot that misses.

Leskin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Wallace manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Leskin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Wallace kicks Leskin off and gets to his feet.

Leskin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Leskin tries to clinch but Wallace moves out of range.
Wallace feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Wallace fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Leskin to the ground. Wallace is now in Leskin's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wallace gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wallace holds on and takes a little breather.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wallace is on top in guard.

Leskin is trying to control the position but Wallace postures up.
Leskin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wallace is one step ahead there.

Wallace is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Wallace gets to his feet - Leskin follows without any prompting.

Leskin gets caught napping as Wallace dives in and scores a takedown. Leskin manages to retain guard.

Wallace takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Leskin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Wallace shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leskin is trying to defend but Wallace finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wallace is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That was a close round but I would say that Thurman Wallace will probably get the nod.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Leskin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard.

Wallace pushes Leskin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Leskin moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Despite the aggression on Leskin's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Leskin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wallace moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thurman Wallace will probably get the nod.

Wallace bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Leskin's guard.

Wallace has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wallace, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
