Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chance Birmbaum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oliver Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ruiz has chosen OCTAGON as his entrance music. Oliver Ruiz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chance Birmbaum! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oliver Ruiz! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown. Birmbaum tries to sprawl out of it but Ruiz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Birmbaum manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Birmbaum half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Ruiz moves into the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Birmbaum creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Birmbaum breaks the clinch.
Ruiz is looking to clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ruiz is defended easily by Birmbaum. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruiz moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. Birmbaum is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. A short body shot lands from Birmbaum as the two fighters clinch.
Ruiz is trying to pull guard but Birmbaum has him pressed against the cage. Chance Birmbaum has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oliver Ruiz. Birmbaum lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ruiz tries to land a knee to the head but Birmbaum blocks with his arms.

Ruiz is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Birmbaum gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Ruiz is looking to control Birmbaum's arms but Birmbaum gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ruiz has his back to the cage. Ruiz is trying to maintain a safe position but Birmbaum gets an underhook and turns Ruiz into the cage. Ruiz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Birmbaum smiles and moves away.
Oliver Ruiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ruiz tries to clinch there but Birmbaum circles away.
Birmbaum circles away from the clinch attempt and Birmbaum counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Birmbaum postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Birmbaum slips nicely into half guard. Ruiz wants to control but Birmbaum is keeping busy.

Birmbaum throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Birmbaum missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Birmbaum not landing any meaningful shots this time. Ruiz is trying to stand up here but Birmbaum is controlling him well. Ruiz is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Birmbaum trying to mount his opponent but Ruiz defends it. Ruiz is looking to improve his position.
Birmbaum is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ruiz fails in his attempt to clinch. Birmbaum closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ruiz did well to prevent Birmbaum getting side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Birmbaum is trying to work for a kimura but Ruiz is defending well.
Ruiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Birmbaum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ruiz wants to control but Birmbaum is keeping busy and won't allow it. Ruiz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Birmbaum. Birmbaum is keen to just control but Ruiz is a slippery customer. Birmbaum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ruiz is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Birmbaum is looking to take a break and control but Ruiz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chance Birmbaum dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Birmbaum lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ruiz backwards. Birmbaum lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Chance Birmbaum has scored more points in the clinch so far. Birmbaum lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Birmbaum has clasped his hands together around Ruiz's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Birmbaum tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Birmbaum works to advance to full mount. Ruiz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Birmbaum punishing his opponent with strikes.
Ruiz is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Birmbaum lands a big elbow - Ruiz is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Ruiz is forced to tap out!
