Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sher Shah Suri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pelle Hermano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hermano has chosen Driving Blind as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sher Shah Suri! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pelle Hermano! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suri connects with a nice looking jab.
A jab from Hermano finds it's way through Suri's defenses. Suri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Nice shot by Hermano. A bone on bone clash there as Suri blocks the leg kick.
Hermano lands with an overhand left. Suri has been working on his boxing with his coaches at LOD: Xtreme MMA in the buildup to the fight. Suri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hermano has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Hermano connects with a solid leg kick. Hermano needs to keep his hands up - Suri had a free shot at his head there. This has been an exciting period of action! The fighters circling - Suri throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Hermano looks to land a right hand but Suri moved out of range. Hermano takes one to the chin there. Hermano tries to score with a low kick but Suri moves his leg out of the way. Suri keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Suri tries to counter with a takedown but Hermano is quick to defend against it. Suri uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hermano. Suri changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hermano wants to clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suri is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hermano had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Suri defends it easily. Suri won't allow Hermano to sweep him here.

A lull in the action here. Hermano is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hermano gets back to half guard. Suri prevents Hermano from improving his position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hermano looking for submissions off his back. Suri controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hermano is looking to get back to full guard here but Suri has managed to pass to side control instead. The referee asks Suri politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Suri prefers to stall for the moment though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hermano tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Suri wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Pelle Hermano will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Suri misses with a looping right. Hermano fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Suri is out of range. Some bone on bone action there as Suri checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. A slow jab from Hermano misses its intended target. Hermano displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suri throws out the jab. Hermano scores with a decent looking hook. Hermano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Suri as he avoids it easily. The fighters circle momentarily. Hermano darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hermano lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Suri checks a leg kick nicely. An inside leg kick from Hermano misses. Hermano staying out of range there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hermano lands a nice looking body shot.

Hermano looks to score with a jab to the body but Suri is just out of range. Pelle Hermano seems to be getting the better of the standup. Suri missing with a left hand there. Hermano tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Suri fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hermano manages to avoid it. Hermano throws a body punch but Suri moves out of range. Hermano misses with a jab to the body

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hermano has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Suri is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hermano. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hermano is looking to reverse the position. Hermano is not content to let Suri control the position. Hermano manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hermano lands with a punch from half guard. Suri preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Suri makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Suri. Suri will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Suri is pulling down on Hermano's head to control his posture. Hermano with a flurry of punches that miss. Hermano postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Suri seems keen to control Hermano's posture. Hermano preventing the sweep. Hermano throws an elbow that misses. Suri uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hermano's guard. Nice move by Suri! Suri is stalling in the full guard. Hermano wants to sweep but no luck. Hermano keeping moving, preventing Suri from controlling successfully. Hermano looking to sweep here. No luck so far. A close second round but Pelle Hermano will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Suri tries to counter with a takedown but Hermano is quick to defend against it. Hermano closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Suri ducks under a wild hook from Hermano. Suri avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hermano pivots, looking for a leg kick but Suri is out of range and Hermano settles back down. Hermano wants to slow Suri down by chopping away at his legs. Suri is looking to counter punch. Suri throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Suri connects with a leg kick. Hermano looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Suri moves away from the strike by Hermano. Hermano fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Hermano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Suri. Hermano attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Hermano takes a swing at Suri's ribcage but misses. Suri staying out of range there. A good leg kick by Hermano. Hermano throws a leg kick so Suri counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hermano is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Suri takes a little break here. Hermano wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Suri trying to control the position but Hermano is working away. Hermano is trying to escape the position but Suri is controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hermano is looking to reverse the position. Hermano is not content to let Suri control the position. Hermano is trying to improve his position. Suri is staying tight to Hermano's torso, preventing him from escaping. A control attempt from Hermano but he's now mounted! Suri looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Suri looking to control but Hermano is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hermano can't escape the position.

A close third round but Pelle Hermano just about did enough to take it. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hermano dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Suri. That did some damage! Suri throws a body shot but no joy. Hermano displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suri throws out the jab. Suri misses with a body shot.
Suri stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Hermano slips a straight right by Suri. Hermano swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Suri tries to bum rush Hermano with a series of wild strikes but Hermano uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hermano avoids the body shot from Suri.

The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Suri ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Suri displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hermano. A quick step to the side and Suri tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Hermano loads up on a big right hand but Suri slips the punch. Hermano checks the leg kick. Hermano feints and then cracks Suri's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Suri down. Hermano misses with a double jab.

Suri content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Suri's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Hermano manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Suri looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hermano throws a leg kick which misses Suri's front leg but catches the back leg as Suri tries to avoid it. Suri misses with a wild body shot. Suri cracks Hermano with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Hermano throws a hook but Suri blocks it.

This has been an exciting period of action! Hermano throws a lazy right hand but Suri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hermano uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Suri. Hermano stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Suri. Nice takedown defense from Suri. No joy for Hermano on that attempt. Suri just misses with a punch to the body.
Hermano takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Sher Shah Suri has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hermano lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sher Shah Suri. I think Hermano has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
