Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ned Bigsbee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilivasi Veitayaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bigsbee comes to the cage accompanied by Gin & Juice. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ned Bigsbee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ilivasi Veitayaki!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bigsbee shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Veitayaki defends it nicely.
Bigsbee dodges the punch combination from Veitayaki.

Veitayaki shoots in for a takedown but Bigsbee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ned Bigsbee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ilivasi Veitayaki.
Bigsbee is looking to take a break and control but Veitayaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Veitayaki is trying to stick to Bigsbee's back but Bigsbee is turning into Veitayaki. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Veitayaki's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Bigsbee.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bigsbee's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bigsbee looking to sit in guard and control but Veitayaki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bigsbee lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bigsbee throws a strike but Veitayaki rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Veitayaki drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bigsbee looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bigsbee looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bigsbee!

Veitayaki is pushing Bigsbee's head away, looking to escape. Bigsbee manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee asks Bigsbee politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bigsbee prefers to stall for the moment though.
Bigsbee seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Veitayaki for as long as he can get away with.
The ground and pound from Bigsbee seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Veitayaki takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Bigsbee has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Veitayaki is not content to let Bigsbee control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Veitayaki is trying to improve his position.
Bigsbee wants to control but Veitayaki is keeping him busy.
Veitayaki managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Bigsbee.
Veitayaki is looking for a sweep.

Veitayaki is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bigsbee asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bigsbee lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Veitayaki down.

Veitayaki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Veitayaki dives in and grabs Bigsbee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bigsbee pushes down on Veitayaki's head and hops out.

Bigsbee digs a right hand underneath Veitayaki's ribcage. Veitayaki let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Bigsbee is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Veitayaki can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Veitayaki is breathing heavily.
Bigsbee lands a shoulder strike.
Bigsbee is leaning against Veitayaki and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Bigsbee's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Veitayaki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bigsbee. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Veitayaki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Veitayaki wants it to stay on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bigsbee thows a body kick. Veitayaki tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Veitayaki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bigsbee looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Ilivasi Veitayaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bigsbee throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Veitayaki was covering up waiting for the punch and Bigsbee finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ned Bigsbee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well Bigsbee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
