Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sub Way! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hogan! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Way misses with a takedown attempt - Hogan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hogan throws a head kick that misses. Way throwing a counter right hand but Hogan manages to avoid it. Way shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hogan is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hogan is looking for a sweep. Way is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hogan wants to control but Way is keeping busy and won't allow it. Way takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hogan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Way working the head and body with strikes. Way thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hogan's head. Way looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Way is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hogan is trying to maintain the position but Way is very close to passing his half guard. Way lands strikes from half guard. Hogan wants to control but Way is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Way lands a nice short elbow. Hogan tries to roll over but Way keeps him under control. Way looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hogan keeps control of the position for the meantime. Way working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Way slips a nice elbow through Hogan's hands, connecting with Hogan's forehead.
Hogan is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Way looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hogan is still in real trouble! Can Way finish him? Way scores with a big shot! Hogan's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Hogan! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
