Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bell Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bateman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Anberlin-True Faith. Marques has chosen Quiribamba as his entrance music. Bell Marques is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marques lets loose with a powerful body kick. Bateman will feel that in the morning.
Bateman feints and as Marques raises his hands in defense, Bateman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bateman is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Marques striking off his back but it's not causing Bateman any problems.
Bateman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Marques wants to get back to his feet but Bateman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Bateman throws a big right hand that misses.
Marques is looking to stand up but Bateman isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bateman wants to control from the top but Marques keeps moving.
Bateman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bateman looks up at the clock and then as Marques takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bateman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Marques throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Bateman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marques to the mat! Marques manages to get full guard.

Bateman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Bateman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marques wants to stand and escape but Bateman is having none of it.
Bateman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Marques, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Marques looks gassed!
Bateman gets the takedown into side control.
Marques takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Marques is looking for a sweep.

Bateman lands a strong strike to the head of Marques. That's dazed him! Bateman looking to finish here. Marques is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Bateman lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
