Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 41 - 24 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rocky Mercurious!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a combination
and Mercurious counters with a good low kick that Williams was not able to check.
Williams on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Mercurious darts in and clinches Williams up against the cage.

Williams tries to circle away but Mercurious has him pinned against the cage.

Williams fails with a takedown attempt.
Mercurious tries to counter with a clinch but Williams shakes him off and moves away.
Mercurious throws a head kick that misses.
Mercurious lands with a good body shot.
Williams has been working on his boxing with his coaches at DaJet Conditioning, Transition, Escape School in the buildup to the fight.
Mercurious connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Williams's hands.
Williams tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mercurious avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Williams is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mercurious pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Williams changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mercurious tries to avoid it but Williams manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mercurious to the ground. Mercurious escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Mercurious breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Williams shoots in looking for a takedown but Mercurious manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Williams's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mercurious connects with a leg kick. Williams looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Mercurious lands a nice hook to Williams's body. Williams takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Williams shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mercurious manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Williams wants to control from the top but Mercurious keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Let's hope that Mercurious has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Williams sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Williams regains full guard. Nicely done.
Mercurious looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Rocky Mercurious showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Williams shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mercurious as he jumps to the side.

Well Mercurious has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
