Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kay Ector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ector has chosen Monster! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kay Ector will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eduardo Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kay Ector!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Ector misses.
Alvarez misses with a wild combination.
Ector with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Alvarez thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ector punishes Alvarez's body with a nice straight punch.
Alvarez takes a swing at Ector's ribcage but misses.
Ector doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Alvarez looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Alvarez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ector.
Alvarez throws a hook but Ector blocks it.
Ector is looking to clinch.
Alvarez misses with a wild body shot.
As Alvarez backs off Ector throws a huge counter combo but Alvarez manages to avoid it all.
Ector is looking to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ector takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Alvarez cracks Ector with a right hand to the side of the head.
Ector swings for the body but Alvarez moves out of range.
Alvarez is looking for a counter combo.
Alvarez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ector throws a shot from downtown. Alvarez moves away and avoids it.

Alvarez checks a leg kick nicely.
Ector scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alvarez doesn't seem bothered though.
Alvarez clobbers Ector with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kay Ector is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alvarez throws a jab but it's blocked by Ector.
Alvarez throws an off balance right hand
and Ector counters with a series of strikes. Alvarez will be more careful next time no doubt.

Ector drives through with a takedown into Alvarez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Alvarez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ector wants to stand but Alvarez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Alvarez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ector passes into half guard.

Alvarez looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Ector pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alvarez tries to hold on but Ector postures up.

Alvarez is wriggling around trying to escape.

Ector is continuing to stall.

Let's hope that Ector has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Alvarez is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Alvarez prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Alvarez is trying to escape the mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Alvarez tries to hold on but Ector pushes him away.
Alvarez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Ector can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Alvarez is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kay Ector dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ector misses with a jab to the body

and Alvarez counters with a shoot takedown. Ector fights it but they end up in guard.
Alvarez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ector is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ector looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alvarez is one step ahead there.
Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Ector is retaining full guard.
Ector wants to get back to his feet but Alvarez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ector is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ector keeping moving, preventing Alvarez from controlling successfully.

Ector utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ector has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Alvarez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ector is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alvarez, into his guard.


Ector got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ector has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alvarez working a defensive guard but Ector manages to pass into side control anyway.
You can see the frustration on Alvarez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Alvarez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ector wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Alvarez is trying to control Ector's posture but Ector avoids it.

Ector looking to control but instead Alvarez has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Ector is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Alvarez!

Alvarez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Alvarez tries to hold on but Ector postures up.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ector tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kay Ector showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Ector bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alvarez's head backwards.
Ector is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Alvarez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Alvarez misses the shot to the body.
Alvarez takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Alvarez is defended easily by Ector.
Alvarez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ector connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Alvarez scrambles back to his feet.
Alvarez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Alvarez shoots for a takedown but Ector saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ector lands with a nice body punch.
Alvarez slips under a jab from Ector.
Ector will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Alvarez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alvarez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ector rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alvarez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alvarez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ector lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Alvarez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ector is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Alvarez's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alvarez jumps guard but Ector stands there with Alvarez around his waist. Alvarez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eduardo Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ector's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alvarez avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ector scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alvarez doesn't seem bothered though.

Kay Ector is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Alvarez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ector sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Eduardo Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ector cracks Alvarez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Alvarez walks into a stiff left hand from Ector.
Alvarez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Ector fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alvarez on the side of the head.

and Ector connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ector ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ector lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Alvarez tries to move into range but Ector moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ector throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Alvarez on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kay Ector comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ector winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Kay Ector really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that On Tap (160Q & Laundry) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
