Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benjamin Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Van Clief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Clief has chosen "X Gonna give it to ya" as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Benjamin Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Van Clief!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Clief throws a left and a right that both miss

and Snow counters by moving into the clinch.
Snow jumps guard but Van Clief turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Van Clief wants to break free but Snow has control.

Van Clief lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Van Clief breaks from the clinch.

Van Clief fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Snow sprawls well initially but Van Clief persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Snow tries to roll over but Van Clief keeps him under control.
Snow pushes Van Clief off looking to stand but Van Clief dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Snow keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Snow tries to kick Van Clief off but Van Clief keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Snow moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Van Clief is fighting to break Snow's control of his arms but Snow is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Snow has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Van Clief is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Van Clief just misses with a elbow thrown towards Snow's brow.
Snow drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Van Clief lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Snow backwards.

Snow lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Snow lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Van Clief is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Snow scores with a couple of nice shots.
Snow is trying to control the action in half guard but Van Clief is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Snow really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are battling for position here. Van Clief manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's time! Snow's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Van Clief feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Snow manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Snow drops down looking for an ankle pick but Van Clief pulls his leg out and moves away.

Van Clief has closed the distance and engaged Snow in a clinch.
Snow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Van Clief is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benjamin Snow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Snow is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Van Clief pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Snow has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Van Clief avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Van Clief cracks Snow with a nice body shot.
Snow can't get the takedown.
Snow on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Snow tries to work over Van Clief's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Van Clief looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Van Clief is trying to break free.
Van Clief tries a knee to the head but Snow blocks it.
Snow wants to take the fight to the mat but Van Clief manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Snow jumps guard but Van Clief stands there with Snow around his waist. Snow gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Van Clief has had enough of the clinch but Snow keeps him there for the moment.
Van Clief wants to get back to striking at distance but Snow won't allow it.

Snow fails to pull guard.

Van Clief escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Snow gets tackled into the cage by Van Clief. Van Clief maintains the clinch.
Snow tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Van Clief is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Snow is keeping busy.
Snow is looking for a takedown.
Van Clief tries to break free but Snow pushes him back against the cage.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jay Van Clief showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Snow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Van Clief throws out the jab.
As Van Clief backs away, Snow returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Snow tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Van Clief paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Van Clief drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Snow sneaks out the side door and pushes Van Clief away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Van Clief moves into the clinch.
Van Clief wants to get back to striking at distance but Snow won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Snow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Snow moves in looking to clinch but Van Clief pushes him off.
Snow tries to close the distance and clinch but Van Clief swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Snow wants to clinch up but Van Clief keeps it at a distance.

Van Clief scores with a takedown into Snow's guard.
Snow is looking to stand up but Van Clief isn't so interested in that idea.

Snow wants to stand and escape but Van Clief is having none of it.

Snow gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Snow has a closed guard, preventing Van Clief from standing up.

Snow is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Snow will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Snow is pulling down on Van Clief's head. It's preventing any offense from Van Clief, at least for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Snow tries to close the distance and clinch but Van Clief swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Van Clief bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Snow wants to control but Van Clief postures up.
Van Clief misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Snow wants to control but Van Clief postures up.
Snow tries to bench press Van Clief off him but Van Clief keeps the position.

Van Clief stands up and we're back to a striking position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jay Van Clief comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Van Clief has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
