Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reid Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason DeBruyn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Reid Monroe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason DeBruyn! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monroe avoids the head kick by DeBruyn.
A counter left hand to the body from Monroe misses its target. DeBruyn feints and as Monroe raises his hands in defense, DeBruyn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Monroe pushes DeBruyn off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. DeBruyn feints and as Monroe raises his hands in defense, DeBruyn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are working up against the cage. Monroe manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Monroe tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
DeBruyn gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. DeBruyn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like DeBruyn might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. DeBruyn postures up.
DeBruyn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Monroe's guard. DeBruyn decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Monroe darts in looking for a takedown but DeBruyn gets double underhooks and turns Monroe into the cage. DeBruyn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeBruyn prevents Monroe from improving his position. DeBruyn is working for a kimura but Monroe is defending it quite comfortably.
DeBruyn with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Monroe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeBruyn on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monroe looks like he's trying to stand up.
DeBruyn keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. DeBruyn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. DeBruyn has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Monroe defend it? DeBruyn steps over the head and cranks it - Monroe is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for DeBruyn!
