Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Grover Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Lovell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Grover Kirby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Lovell! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lovell throws a half hearted mid kick. Oooooh!!! Lovell has knocked Kirby down with a huge combo! Lovell steps away and waves a wobbly Kirby back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Grover Kirby has been cut. Kirby really is a fat lump. Kirby tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lovell tries to clinch there but Kirby circles away.
Kirby seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Lovell gets a takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Lovell prevents Kirby from improving his position. Lovell works his way into full mount! Lovell misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby is looking to get to half guard. Kirby regains half guard. Lovell decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Lovell has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kirby. Lovell forces Kirby back against the cage and clinches. Lovell is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Kirby looking to slow down the pace here. Kirby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lovell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kirby tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lovell manages to circle out of the way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lovell throws a leg kick but Kirby sees it coming and moves out of range. Kirby attempts a counter takedown but Lovell avoids it well and moves away. Kirby fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kirby fails to land the takedown. Lovell dives in and scores a takedown into Kirby's guard. Kirby has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lovell has passed into side control.
Lovell remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Lovell is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Lovell controlling the pace for now. Kirby is wriggling around trying to escape.
Lovell unloads with some shots from mount but Kirby bucks and avoids them well.
Lovell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kirby is desperately trying to improve his position but Lovell has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lovell sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Lovell tries to control but Kirby wriggling away. Lovell throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Kirby wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lovell.
Lovell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kirby is wriggling around trying to escape.

Ben Lovell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Grover Kirby's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kirby avoids the head kick by Lovell.
Kirby gets caught napping as Lovell dives in and scores a takedown. Kirby manages to retain guard. Kirby is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kirby being controlled here, momentarily. Lovell throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lovell throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirby looking for a sweep. Not yet Kirby, not yet. Kirby looking for subs off his back but Lovell has passed one foot through into half guard.
Ben Lovell has got the better of the ground game so far. Lovell is trying to control the action in half guard but Kirby is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kirby works his way to full guard. Good work. Lovell is stalling in the full guard. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Lovell. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Lovell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Lovell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Lovell stands up from guard. Let's bang! Lovell scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Lovell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lovell in particular looking to stall. Lovell trying to control the action but Kirby is working from the bottom. Lovell is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kirby is trying to maintain the position but Lovell is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lovell controlling the pace. Lovell prevents Kirby from improving his position. Lovell moves into full mount! Kirby won't be happy about that! Kirby tries to get back to half guard but can't. Lovell has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kirby looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. You can see the frustration on Kirby's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Kirby is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Lovell gets his way!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kirby showing good submission defense here.
Lovell is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Kirby knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Kirby for a finish. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lovell is trying to trip Kirby. He has hold of a leg but Kirby is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lovell persists though and gets the takedown into guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Lovell trying to control the position here. Lovell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kirby. Kirby throws a strike but Lovell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lovell trying to control the position from guard on top but Kirby is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kirby is striking off his back. Lovell thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Kirby is looking for a sweep. Lovell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kirby is working hard here to advance position. Kirby moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Kirby is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lovell is aware though and is defending well. Lovell stands up from guard. Let's bang! Lovell gets the takedown into side control. Lovell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kirby knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lovell misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lovell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. The fight moves into the clinch position. Lovell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lovell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Lovell has his hands on Kirby's head, controlling the position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ben Lovell. Well Lovell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
