Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Disyphlan Lovelair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Smith! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith drops Lovelair with a beautiful combination! Lovelair stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Smith is looking for the KO!
Lovelair is rocked!
It looks like Disyphlan Lovelair has been cut. Some wild striking there from Smith.
Oh Lovelair is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Smith swinging wildly here.
Lovelair seems to have got his legs back now. Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lovelair throwing a counter right hand but Smith manages to avoid it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing. Chris Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A combination from Smith does no damage. Smith slips a jab and a cross from Lovelair.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lovelair. Smith swinging wildly here.
Smith checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lovelair showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Smith.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.
Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Smith looks winded! Lovelair lunges at Smith with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Smith's hand. Smith throws a right hand that Lovelair ducks under and follows up with a left that Lovelair also avoids with ease. Smith scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Lovelair shoots in and bounces Smith off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Smith is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lovelair dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lovelair wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well. Lovelair is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Smith will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Lovelair wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Lovelair advances to full mount. Lovelair looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Lovelair wants to finish this one by submission but Smith is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lovelair. Lovelair forces the positional change into back control. Lovelair is cranking Smith's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Smith! He's tightened the choke and Smith is tapping out!
