Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jon Bones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pharoah West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jon Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pharoah West!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
West throws a head kick that Bones semi-blocks.


It looks like Jon Bones has been cut.

West gets a double leg takedown into Bones's guard.
Bones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bones lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Bones content to stall in guard here.

Bones got a little sloppy there for a moment and West has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bones has managed to get both his arms back between West's legs - danger averted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bones wants to pass the guard but West is keeping the position.

West looking for a guillotine here but Bones defends easily.

West pushes Bones off and gets back to his feet.

West gets caught napping as Bones dives in and scores a takedown. West manages to retain guard.
West can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bones controls the pace.

West is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bones is aware though and is defending well.
Bones trying to stand up but can't free himself from West's guard.

Bones tries to free his leg and advance position but West is retaining full guard.
West manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bones manages to get himself to full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bones holds on and takes a little breather.
West engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bones looking to control.

Bones wants to improve his position but instead West has moved into half guard.
West lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bones is trying to stand up here but West is controlling him well.
Bones is trying to control but can't.
West moves into full mount! Bones won't be happy about that!
Bones wants to control but West is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bones sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
West is trying to control. Bones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
West is figuring out what he wants to do next.
West wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bones keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bones takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Bones moves into the clinch.
West is looking for a takedown.

Bones gets a trip takedown into half guard.

West manages to escape and get back to his feet!
West throws a head kick that Bones semi-blocks.
Jon Bones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
West shoots in but no luck this time.
Bones drops down looking for a counter takedown but West sprawls and moves away.

Bones drives through with a takedown into West's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

West kicks Bones off and gets to his feet.

Bones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

West is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
West has had enough of the clinch but Bones keeps him there for the moment.

Bones drags the fight down to the ground.
West stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bones swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bones utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bones tries to get out of the position.

Bones throws his legs up looking for a submission but West uses it to pass to side control.
Bones is not content to let West control the position.
Bones is pushing West's head away, looking to escape. West manages to hold on to the position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Bones is trying to get back to half guard.
West has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bones can't do much from the bottom here.
Bones gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bones blocking the ground and pound attempt from West.
Bones is trying to defend against the ground and pound but West scores with a couple of nice shots.
West trying to control the action but Bones is working from the bottom.
Bones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. West is working away from the top position though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bones doesn't succeed with the takedown
and West counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bones is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Bones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. West is trying to defend but Bones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
West wants to control but Bones is keeping busy.
Bones passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for West!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pharoah West showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


West tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
West tries to clinch but Bones moves out of range.

Bones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

West sneaks out the side door and pushes Bones away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
West doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bones counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
West throws a knee to the head but misses.
Bones looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Bones using the Thai plumb to throw knees but West has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Bones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite West's efforts to push away.

Bones gets control of West's arms and successfully pulls guard. Bones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
West wants to control from the top but Bones keeps moving.
Bones pulls West in to control the position.
Bones looking for a sweep. Not yet Bones, not yet.
West sitting in guard here, content to control.
Bones keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully.

West stands and steps away. Bones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
West dives in and grabs Bones's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bones pushes down on West's head and hops out.
Bones fakes a jab and throws a low kick but West checks it well.

West looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Bones wants to stand back up but West manages to pass into side control.
West takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bones is trying to control West's posture but West avoids it.

West is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Pharoah West has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bones can't do much from the bottom here.

West working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Bones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but West wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West prevents Bones from escaping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bones struggling a bit here.
Bones is looking to regain half guard here but West keeps moving and retains side control.
Bones is working hard here to advance position.
West has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bones is looking to improve his position but West isn't that keen on the idea.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pharoah West comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got West winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
