Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dorsey Holland! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Grayce! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Left hook, right uppercut from Holland. Holland lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Felipe Grayce has been cut. Holland throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Holland stuffs the takedown attempt from Grayce. Grayce gets slowly back to his feet. Holland connects with a body shot. Grayce closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Holland did well to prevent Grayce getting side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Holland is refusing to be controlled, as Grayce sits in half guard. Grayce is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Holland has managed to free his arm - good work. Grayce wants to pass to mount but Holland is defending the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Grayce is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Holland reverses the position - he's now on top in Grayce's guard. Grayce working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Holland. Holland won't allow Grayce to sweep him here. Holland stands up and waves to Grayce to follow him. Holland throws a hook but Grayce avoids it easily. And Grayce tries to counter it with a takedown but Holland pushes his down on his head and steps out. Grayce tries for a takedown but Holland sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Grayce looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Dorsey Holland has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Felipe Grayce.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grayce takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Grayce bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Grayce tries for a kimura but Holland is defending well. Holland prevents Grayce from moving into mount. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Grayce is still trying to improve position. Grayce wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Holland, who protects the arm well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grayce advances to full mount. Grayce looking to control and managing it successfully. Grayce has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Holland is forced to tap!
