Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chico Morales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kern Dignity (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chico Morales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kern Dignity!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dignity avoids the head kick by Morales.
Morales misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morales tries to clinch there but Dignity circles away.
Dignity throws out a powerful jab.
Dignity looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Morales throws out a loose jab but Dignity uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dignity blocks a jab.
Chico Morales seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dignity lands a jab to Morales's midsection.
Morales lands a high kick!
Morales throws a shot from downtown. Dignity moves away and avoids it.
Dignity was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Morales throws a lazy head kick
and Dignity counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dignity scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Dignity dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Morales. That did some damage!
Dignity connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dignity lands a right hook to the body.
Dignity just misses with a punch to the body.
Morales looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Morales lands a nice shot to the body.

The fight stays on the outside here - Morales looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dignity punishes Morales's body with a nice straight punch.

and Dignity counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dignity working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dignity connects with a nice short shot to Morales's temple.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Morales tries to roll over but Dignity keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dignity in particular looking to stall.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dignity lands a nice short elbow.
Morales has hold of Dignity's hands but Dignity slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Dignity content to control rather than advance.
Dignity has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dignity content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Let's hope that Dignity has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dignity is nestled in close to Morales, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dignity is taking a breather. Morales says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dignity is looking to advance position but Morales won't allow it.
Dignity looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Morales with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Morales has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dignity is working away from the top position though.
Dignity perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dignity slips a nice elbow through Morales's hands, connecting with Morales's forehead.
Morales wants to improve his position but Dignity is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dignity is thwarting Morales's attempts to control the position.
Dignity is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Dignity is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Morales is hurt! He's hurt bad - Dignity fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Morales from any more punishment! Congratulations to Dignity! Great finish!
