Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kuma Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Sound of Silence. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jiu Jitsu! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kuma Nelson! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jitsu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Nelson throws a jab but it's blocked by Jitsu. Jitsu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nelson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jitsu's calf. A low kick from Nelson misses and Jitsu decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nelson's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Jitsu advances to half guard. Jitsu missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Jitsu is working for a submission of some sort.
Jitsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jitsu is working for a kimura but Nelson is defending it quite comfortably.
Nelson tries to get to full guard but Jitsu has control of the leg. Nelson wants to control but Jitsu is keeping busy and won't allow it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nelson. Jitsu drops back looking for a leg! Nelson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nelson manages to kick Jitsu off! Jitsu jumps back into Nelson's guard. Jitsu with a flurry of punches that miss. Jitsu lands a couple of digs. Nelson is trying to keep Jitsu in close.
Jitsu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jitsu tries to free his leg and advance position but Nelson is retaining full guard. Jitsu stands up over Nelson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Nelson managing to control the position. Jitsu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson trying to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nelson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jitsu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jitsu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nelson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Jitsu throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jitsu throwing strikes from guard but Nelson blocks nicely. Jitsu thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Jitsu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nelson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jitsu landing some decent shots from guard. Nelson wants to stand and escape but Jitsu is having none of it. Jitsu with a flurry of punches that miss. Jitsu passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jitsu cracks Nelson with a big elbow. Jitsu tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jitsu has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nelson struggling a bit here. Jitsu in side control, throwing shots but Nelson defends. You can see the frustration on Nelson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jitsu creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Nelson sneaks back into half guard. Nelson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jitsu distracts Nelson with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Jitsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Nelson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Jitsu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Nelson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jitsu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jitsu is in close to Nelson's body, working some short punches and elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jitsu with a flurry of punches that miss. Nelson working a defensive guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jiu Jitsu dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jitsu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Nelson misses with a leg kick. Nelson leaves Jitsu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nelson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jitsu. A jab from Nelson misses. Jitsu tries to counter with a takedown but Nelson is quick to defend against it. A swing and a miss from Nelson. Jitsu looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Nelson wants to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jitsu thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nelson gets full guard. Nelson wants to sweep but no luck. Jitsu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Nelson is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jitsu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Nelson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jitsu has Nelson in his guard. Nelson pushes down on Jitsu's leg and manages to get into half guard. Nelson is looking to advance position but Jitsu won't allow it. Jitsu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jitsu looking for submissions off his back. Nelson is keen to just control but Jitsu is a slippery customer. Jitsu looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jitsu is looking to improve his position.
Nelson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jitsu tries to roll over but Nelson keeps him under control. Jitsu is working hard here to advance position. Nelson is pressing down on Jitsu's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jitsu is holding on for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jitsu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Jitsu looking for submissions off his back. Nelson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jitsu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nelson. Nelson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Jitsu is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Nelson is tapping! Great win for Jitsu!
