Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Valentin Hadjiev! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Romano Redz! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hadjiev on the wrong end of a nice hook. A cross from Redz lands. Redz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Redz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hadjiev blocks a jab. Hadjiev attempts a counter takedown but Redz avoids it well and moves away. Redz fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hadjiev moves forwards but Redz connects with a nice, crisp jab. Romano Redz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Redz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hadjiev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Hadjiev avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hadjiev attempts a counter takedown but Redz avoids it well and moves away. This has been an exciting period of action! Sloppy strikes from Redz. Those never looked like landing. Hadjiev shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Redz sprawls well. Redz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hadjiev gets slowly back to his feet. Redz doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Hadjiev tries for a takedown but Redz circles away easily and Redz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hadjiev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Redz as he avoids it easily. Redz is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Valentin Hadjiev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Redz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Redz wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Romano Redz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hadjiev takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Hadjiev has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Redz finds it's way round the side to connect with Hadjiev's head. Hadjiev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hadjiev takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hadjiev is rocked! Hadjiev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Redz circles away. Redz lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Oh Hadjiev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hadjiev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Redz counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Hadjiev has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
