Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Grossman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duncan The Tall! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grossman with a lazy takedown attempt and The Tall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. The Tall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The Tall is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. The Tall has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Grossman is landing a low percentage of strikes. The Tall keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Grossman. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Tall with a body punch. A glancing blow. Grossman doesn't succeed with the takedown and The Tall counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Grossman thinking. The Tall fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The Tall lands with a shot to the body. Grossman fails miserably with a takedown attempt. David Grossman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Grossman shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The Tall looking for a sweep. Not yet The Tall, not yet. Grossman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and The Tall dives on top into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grossman had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. The Tall defends it easily. Grossman has his feet on The Tall's thighs here. He's pushed The Tall off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! The Tall screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

David Grossman decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
