Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Cervantes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myles Dawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derrick Cervantes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Myles Dawson! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Francis DeMontford and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cervantes is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Dawson's half guard. Cervantes not doing much here.
Dawson wants to get back to his feet. Cervantes tries to stand but can't do so whilst Dawson controls his leg. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cervantes escapes and gets back to his feet. Dawson gets caught napping as Cervantes dives in and scores a takedown. Dawson manages to retain guard. Dawson wants to stand up but Cervantes is controlling him. Dawson is working an open guard so Cervantes takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cervantes stuffs the takedown attempt from Dawson. Dawson gets slowly back to his feet. Cervantes drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dawson sprawls and moves away. Dawson looks to land a combination. Cervantes sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Dawson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cervantes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cervantes counters with a one-two to the body. Dawson throws a right hand that Cervantes ducks under and follows up with a left that Cervantes also avoids with ease. Cervantes with a poor takedown letting Dawson counter with a right hand. Myles Dawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dawson swings away with a body shot that misses
and Cervantes counters with a series of strikes. Dawson will be more careful next time no doubt. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dawson tries to bum rush Cervantes with a series of wild strikes but Cervantes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cervantes scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cervantes gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Cervantes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Cervantes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dawson swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Cervantes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dawson throws a combination. Cervantes tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Cervantes really is a fat lump. Dawson misses with a double jab
and Cervantes counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervantes stands up and beckons Dawson to join him on the feet. Dawson with a poor takedown and Cervantes counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Dawson darts in looking for a takedown but Cervantes gets double underhooks and turns Dawson into the cage. Dawson looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cervantes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Cervantes stands up and beckons Dawson to his feet. Cervantes looks to land a combination but Dawson avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derrick Cervantes dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cervantes fails with the takedown and Dawson counters with a nice uppercut. Dawson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dawson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cervantes off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cervantes circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dawson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Cervantes appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cervantes circles away. Dawson scores with a hook to the body. Cervantes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Cervantes throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Dawson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cervantes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cervantes slips a jab and a cross from Dawson.
Dawson throws a combination that misses and Cervantes counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Cervantes stands and steps away. Dawson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Cervantes drives through with a takedown into Dawson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cervantes won't allow Dawson to get back to his feet. Dawson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cervantes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dawson is breathing heavily. Cervantes lands a couple of digs. Cervantes gets to his feet - Dawson follows without any prompting.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cervantes feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dawson's calf. Dawson darts in trying to clinch and Cervantes counters with a low kick, right behind Dawson 's knee. A solid body kick from Cervantes. Dawson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervantes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cervantes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cervantes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Dawson is trying to buck Cervantes off. Cervantes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dawson, who protects the arm well. Cervantes decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dawson to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derrick Cervantes dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

A punch combination from Dawson misses. Cervantes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dawson can do to turn this around? Cervantes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dawson's guard. Cervantes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dawson's guard. Cervantes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cervantes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dawson throws a left and a right that both miss

Dawson closes the distance and clinches up with Cervantes, looking for a takedown. Dawson pushes Cervantes against the cage but Cervantes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dawson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dawson throws a series of punches but Cervantes avoids them all with ease. Cervantes shoots in and bounces Dawson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Cervantes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cervantes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dawson, up you get! Dawson ducks under a wild hook from Cervantes. Cervantes misses with a leg kick and Dawson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dawson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cervantes was well out of range. Poor timing from Dawson. Dawson leaves Cervantes with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dawson displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Cervantes shoots in for a takedown but Dawson shows good takedown defense. Dawson lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Dawson wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cervantes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Dawson! Dawson throws Cervantes to one side and escapes!
And that's the end of the fight! Myles Dawson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Cervantes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
