Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Hawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthew Princiotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matthew Princiotta!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hawk feints and as Princiotta raises his hands in defense, Hawk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Princiotta controls Hawk momentarily but Hawk frees himself.
Hawk is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hawk loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hawk has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Princiotta doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hawk trying to control but Princiotta is working from the bottom.
Hawk sitting in guard here, content to control.
Princiotta seems keen to control Hawk's posture.

Princiotta is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hawk throws a big right hand that misses.

Princiotta has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hawk off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Hawk bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hawk throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hawk misses with the ground and pound.
Hawk landing a few strikes.
Hawk is working Princiotta over with some ground and pound from side control.
Hawk fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Hawk lands some shots froms side control.
Princiotta looks gassed!
Hawk cracks Princiotta with a big elbow.

Hawk misses with the ground and pound.

Hawk lands a few punches from side control.
An elbow from Hawk crashes against the mat.
Princiotta is trying to buck Hawk off.
Hawk lands a decent elbow from side control.

Hawk looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Princiotta is avoiding damage well.
Hawk cracks Princiotta with a big elbow.
Hawk landing strikes.
Hawk cracks Princiotta with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hawk knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Princiotta on the ground.

Hawk in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Princiotta wants to control but Hawk postures up.
Princiotta is looking for a sweep.
Hawk is chipping away with strikes.
Hawk lands a nice forearm strike.
Princiotta is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Princiotta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Princiotta is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hawk connects with a decent elbow.
Hawk trying to control the action but Princiotta is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hawk lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Princiotta down.
Hawk in side control lands a decent elbow.
Hawk cracks Princiotta with a big right hand but Princiotta just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hawk advances to full mount.
Hawk is landing with some decent strikes but Princiotta is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hawk fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Hawk wants to control the pace but Princiotta is squirming around nicely.
Hawk working away from the top, dropping strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Hawk dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Princiotta gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hawk throws a series of punches but Princiotta avoids them all with ease.
Princiotta fails with an attempt to clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Princiotta.
Hawk moves out of range as Princiotta throws a body kick.
No joy there for Hawk, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Princiotta stuffs the takedown.
Hawk misses with a double jab.
Mike Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Princiotta avoids a punch combination nicely.

Princiotta shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hawk's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Princiotta trying to control but Hawk is working from the bottom.
Hawk really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Princiotta stops Hawk from standing up.
Hawk throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hawk is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Princiotta passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Hawk connecting with a few gentle strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hawk throws a head kick but Princiotta moves out of range.
Hawk tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Princiotta swivels and escapes.
Princiotta misses with a series of wild punches.
A punch combination from Princiotta misses.
Hawk lands with a nice combination. Princiotta backs away looking to recover.

Hawk changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Princiotta looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Princiotta wants to control but Hawk postures up.
Princiotta manages to get back to half guard.
Princiotta avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hawk.

Princiotta has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Hawk. Oh but Princiotta has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Hawk goes limp - he's gone! Princiotta jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Matthew Princiotta!
