Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Valchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ivan Drago has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Igor Valchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ivan Drago!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Igor Valchenko has been cut.
Drago throws a nice looking combination but Valchenko bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Valchenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Valchenko lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Ivan Drago has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A punch combination from Valchenko misses.
Valchenko throws a head kick that misses.
Drago throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Valchenko counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Valchenko has clasped his hands together around Drago's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Drago tries to buck Valchenko off but Valchenko is having none of it.
Valchenko takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Drago to pass into mount.
Drago slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Drago wants to control but Valchenko is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Valchenko seems to be looking for submissions.
Drago wants to get back to his feet.
Drago is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drago is trying to maintain the position but Valchenko is very close to passing his half guard.

Valchenko is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Drago has managed to free his arm - good work.
Drago is trying to stand up here but Valchenko is controlling him well.
The fighters are battling for position here. Drago manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Valchenko trying to control but Drago is working from the bottom.
Valchenko is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drago rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Valchenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Drago closes the distance and clinches up with Valchenko, looking for a takedown. Drago pushes Valchenko against the cage but Valchenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Valchenko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Drago punishes Valchenko's body with a nice straight punch.
Drago lands with a nice body punch.
Valchenko avoids the head kick by Drago.
Valchenko checks the leg kick nicely there.
Drago fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Valchenko goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Valchenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Drago.
Drago looks to land a combination. Valchenko sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Valchenko trying to mount his opponent but Drago defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drago slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Drago not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Drago working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Valchenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Valchenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Drago has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Valchenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Drago preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Valchenko trying to control but Drago is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Drago swinging wilding here.
Drago fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Valchenko looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Drago scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Valchenko clinches with his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valchenko keeps control of Drago as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Valchenko pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Drago throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Valchenko counters with a takedown into side control.
Drago tries to bench press Valchenko off him but Valchenko keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ivan Drago will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Drago misses with a hook. Valchenko ducked under it nicely.
Valchenko dodges the punch combination from Drago.
Drago moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Valchenko misses with a series of wild punches.
Drago throws a head kick that misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Drago.

Valchenko feints and as Drago raises his hands in defense, Valchenko changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Valchenko drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Valchenko jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Drago has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Valchenko should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Drago has tightened it up now! Valchenko should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ivan Drago!
