Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Salim Sadulaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dustin Waller! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Waller. Sadulaev bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Waller explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Sadulaev moves into range and clinches up with Waller. Sadulaev drags the fight down to the ground.
Sadulaev on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sadulaev tries to get out of the position. Sadulaev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sadulaev wants to improve his position but instead Waller has moved into half guard.
Waller is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sadulaev has managed to free his arm - good work. Sadulaev is trying to stand back up but Waller is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Waller is trying to work for a kimura but Sadulaev is defending well.
Waller is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Sadulaev wants to get back to full guard. Waller is working for a kimura but Sadulaev is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Waller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sadulaev does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Waller prevents Sadulaev from improving his position. Waller is trying to control the action in half guard but Sadulaev is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sadulaev gets back to full guard.
Sadulaev has his foot on Waller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Waller works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sadulaev has a closed guard, preventing Waller from standing up. Waller content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Sadulaev has locked up a guillotine! Sadulaev's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Waller is holding on here and Sadulaev must be using up a lot of energy. Waller has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Sadulaev gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
