Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JerryCurl Slick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wandell Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Original Techno Viking kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Slick. A head kick misses from Griffin. Slick shoots in and drives through. Griffin sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for JerryCurl Slick. That's going to take a lot out of him. Slick looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Slick is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth. Griffin wants to get back to full guard. Griffin tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Slick in particular looking to stall. Slick slips a nice elbow through Griffin's hands, connecting with Griffin's forehead.

Slick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Slick chips away with some ground and pound. Slick postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Griffin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slick, into his guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Slick looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Slick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Slick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Griffin is one step ahead there. Griffin landing some decent shots from guard. Slick might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Griffin preventing the sweep. Griffin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Griffin throwing strikes but missing. Slick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Griffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that JerryCurl Slick will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Griffin lands a high kick to the side of Slick's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Griffin dives into guard, looking to finish.

Griffin lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Slick is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Slick is desperately trying to improve his position but Griffin has a good base and remains in mount. Slick manages to regain half guard. Good work. Griffin with the ground and pound but Slick uses the opportunity to regain guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Griffin thows a big elbow that misses. Griffin distracts Slick with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Slick working a defensive guard here.
Slick wants to sweep here but Griffin controlling him for the moment. Griffin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Slick looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Slick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Griffin throws a low kick but it's checked well by Slick. Slick tries to clinch but Griffin moves out of range. Griffin waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Slick. Slick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Slick throwing strikes from guard but Griffin blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wandell Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on JerryCurl Slick's cut. That's time! Slick's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Slick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Slick working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wandell Griffin has got the better of the ground game so far. Slick passes Griffin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Griffin looking for submissions off his back. Griffin tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Griffin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Slick pulls his head out easily.

Could this be all over! No, Slick escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Slick! Griffin throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Slick creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Slick wants to lay and pray for a moment but Griffin keeps working. Griffin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Slick sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Griffin defending well though. Slick moves into full mount! Griffin won't be happy about that! Slick blocks Griffin's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Slick lands a heavy elbow. Slick working Griffin over with strikes here. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Griffin throwing punches from his back. He's mounted here but still fighting back. Slick postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Griffin looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slick has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Griffin's face.

Griffin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slick moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Griffin lands a high kick!

Griffin is staying active underneath Slick, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Slick prevents Griffin from improving his position. Slick winds up and cracks Griffin with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Griffin tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Slick lands with a punch from half guard. Griffin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Slick lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Slick is stalling here. Griffin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Slick seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Griffin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Griffin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Griffin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Griffin lands an elbow. Griffin takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Slick to pass into mount. Slick sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slick is looking to get back to full guard here but Griffin has managed to pass to side control instead. Slick is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Slick in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Griffin working for a submission but Slick is keeping him at bay. Griffin cracks Slick with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
JerryCurl Slick is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Griffin with the ground and pound from mount. Griffin prevents Slick from getting the reversal.
And that's the end of the fight! JerryCurl Slick showed his dominance in that final round. I think Slick has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
