Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fritz Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Kairuz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fritz Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kairuz! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kairuz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Kairuz sitting in guard, not really doing much. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kairuz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kairuz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kairuz postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kairuz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reed swivels though and keeps the full guard. Reed looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kairuz is one step ahead there. Kairuz tries to free his leg and advance position but Reed is retaining full guard. Kairuz lands a couple of decent looking shots. Kairuz looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Reed takes the fight into the clinch. Reed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kairuz drives through with a takedown into Reed's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kairuz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kairuz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kairuz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kairuz is working Reed over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kairuz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Reed is looking to stand up but Kairuz isn't so interested in that idea. Kairuz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reed is keeping the position for now. Reed wants to sweep here but Kairuz controlling him for the moment. Reed is trying to control the position but Kairuz postures up. Reed throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Reed throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Kairuz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kairuz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kairuz in side control, just content to control the action for now. Kairuz working away. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kairuz takes a little break here. Reed wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Reed is trying to control Kairuz's posture but Kairuz avoids it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Michael Kairuz dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Reed is looking to clinch. Kairuz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Reed is pressing down on Kairuz's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Kairuz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Kairuz postures up.

Michael Kairuz has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kairuz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Reed lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Kairuz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kairuz is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Kairuz is continuing to stall. Reed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Kairuz looking for a guillotine here but Reed defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kairuz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Reed postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kairuz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Reed, into his guard. Kairuz is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kairuz pushes down on Reed's leg and manages to get into half guard. Reed won't allow Kairuz to pass to mount. Reed wants to control but Kairuz passes into side.
Kairuz moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Let's hope that Kairuz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kairuz working away. Kairuz working the body and head with strikes. Reed is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Kairuz's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Kairuz content to control rather than advance. Reed is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kairuz stalling. Reed misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kairuz trying to control the pace. Reed trying to control from the bottom.

Michael Kairuz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kairuz misses with an uppercut. Reed saw that one coming. Reed seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kairuz circles away from the clinch attempt and Kairuz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Kairuz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Reed working a defensive guard here.

Kairuz works a leg free and moves into half guard. Reed is trying to maintain the position but Kairuz is very close to passing his half guard. Kairuz is controlling the pace.
Reed tries to roll over but Kairuz keeps him under control. Kairuz is controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kairuz throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kairuz looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Kairuz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Reed! Reed tries to lock up and control but Kairuz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Kairuz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fritz Reed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Michael Kairuz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Kairuz controlling his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Michael Kairuz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Kairuz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
